Directors At The Spaceport
This easter egg can be seen in all versions of the movie.
Description
When Jim and Dr. Doppler first get to the Spaceport early on in the movie, they go down into the port city to get help finding the RLS Legacy. The movie then cuts to a scene where Jim is seek asking a robot and an alien for directions to the ship, where they’re pointed in the right direction.
The tall, beige robot giving Jim directions is modeled after John Musker, while the shorter bearded shopkeeper is modeled after Ron Clements. John and Ron are both of the directors for Treasure Planet and are known to include cameos of themselves in most of their movies including Hercules and Aladdin.
